You better watch out, or you might cry. You don't need to pout and here's a reason why: Metro is offering free services on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve and New Years Eve are two days of the year, where Los Angeles police see a high number of traffic accidents and drunk drivers on the road. But this year, authorities hope to see a decline in intoxicated drivers at holiday time. DUI lawyers in Los Angeles may just see a decline in clients when the new year comes around.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority will be offering free rides on Metro buses and trains on both Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. On New Years Eve, Metro will have a 24 hour service on all routes, where trains will be running every 20 minutes from 9:00 p.m on December 31 to 5:00 a.m on January 1.

So with free public transportation services and extended hours, there's not much of a reason to get behind the wheel after a night of heavy drinking. Driver's should be particularly aware of their surroundings on Christmas and New Years Eve, so that they can avoid accidents with people driving under the influence. Los Angeles police ask that people report drunk drivers on the road by calling 911.

To plan a trip using Metro buses or trains, go to www.metro.net or call 1-800-COMMUTE. And if all else fails, you can also call a local taxi to make sure you get home safe.
